Igbo Think-Home

7 + 7 + 7 = 21

Frequently asked questions on Aku-Ruru-Ulo.

An objective guide to the philosophy “Let wealth return home”: what it means, what already exists, and what the Igbo Think-Home Development Initiative does — and does not — claim.

Introduction

A platform, not a monopoly.

The Initiative does not claim ownership or exclusivity over the broader aspiration for homeland development. It seeks a strategic platform through which Ndi Igbo at home and in the diaspora can contribute capital, expertise, technology, enterprise, innovation and partnerships.

The purpose of these twenty-one questions is to explain the philosophy, clarify the role of the Initiative, recognise existing efforts, encourage collaboration, and mark the step from individual achievement to collective economic development.

Question 01 of 21

Are there already initiatives promoting the Aku-Ruru-Ulo philosophy?

Yes. Over the years, individuals, families, businesses, community organisations, foundations, diaspora groups and socio-cultural institutions have undertaken activities contributing to investment, philanthropy, enterprise development and community advancement across Alaigbo. The Initiative recognises and appreciates these existing contributions.

Conclusion

Homeland development is too important to belong to one organisation, one generation or one sector.

Existing initiatives, individual achievement, community investment, corporate activity and diaspora contributions are foundations. The question is not only who has already done something.

  • How can we do more?
  • How can we coordinate better?
  • How can we create productive capacity?
  • How can we turn wealth into enterprises, enterprises into employment, and employment into sustainable prosperity?

Cooperation, responsible investment, innovation, accountability and collective action can produce more durable results than isolated efforts.

Aku-Ruru-Ulo — let wealth return home.
